Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site is one 2.93-acre parcel (Map 105, Lot 11) southwest of Jericho Road. Access to the Site is available from Jericho Road, which is the northeastern Site boundary, and the Berlin Water Works access road, which traverses the Site from east to west. The Site north of the access Road includes an approximately 30,000-square-foot gravel parking area, and the Site south of the access road is undeveloped and wooded. The Berlin Water Works access road first existed as an unimproved trail by circa 1937. The first development occurred on the northern third of the Site around 1977; however, the southern two-thirds have remained undeveloped and wooded throughout its history. From 1977 and 1986, the northern third was used for storage of a large amount of unknown material, and by 1994, the Site appeared vacant. By 1999, the Site was used as a gravel parking/staging area for the storage of commercial semi-trailers in support of Isaacson Steel operations, which occurred across the street at 148 Jericho Road. When Isaacson Steel ceased operations in 2012, the Site was sold to Paul Croteau who used the site for the storage of salvaged vehicles and parts, and other miscellaneous junk. The town of Berlin acquired the site in 2022.
