Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Baxendale School House was originally constructed in 1895 and consists of an approximately 890 square foot building. The building was used as a schoolhouse until 1943 and was then used as a community center until 1996. The current owners, the Montana Preservation Alliance (MPA), received the property in 2019 through donation and had the building relocated to the Archie Bray Foundation. The MPA applied for a Montana Brownfields Assessment through DEQ's Brownfields 128(a) Grant program in January of 2019. Today, the Archie Bray Foundation is awaiting renovation work on the Baxendale School House and afterwards, plans to turn the building into the Montana Preservation Training Center.
