Additional Property Attributes

Historically, Warfield Oil Company and Carmichael Oil Company occupied the Site and were distributors of gasoline, diesel, heating and fuel oil. Warfield stored and marketed petroleum products from national petroleum suppliers and employed approximately 10 people in 2000. At that time, the facility consisted of approximately 3 buildings and 4 large above ground storage tanks (ASTs). A review of recent aerial photography indicates that the buildings are still standing but the ASTs have been removed from the property. The City of Richmond, Indiana is currently seeking to take possession of the property through a County Commissioner?s sale. It is not known at this time what impacts the Warfield and Carmichael activities have had on the Site. The purpose of the Phase I & II ESAs is to identify these and other potential environmental conditions for the City?s consideration as a potential property owner.
