The City completed an asbestos and lead based paint survey at its own expense, and confirmed that the buildings have asbestos containing materials. AHFC purchased the property in 2020 with $10,650,000 in bond funding. The existing tenants are leasing the buildings until 2021. After the leases have ended, AHFC will begin developing the property for multi-story, multifamily affordable housing. Abatement will occur once the buildings are vacant.

Austin Housing Finance Corporation is purchasing this property to build affordable housing. The Austin Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) was created in 1979 as a public, nonprofit corporation and instrumentality of the City of Austin under the provisions of the Texas Housing Finance Corporation Act, Chapter 394, and Local Government Code. The Austin City Council serves as the AHFC's Board of Directors. The property currently has 2 small building, a storefront and behavioral/educational office. The remainder of the property vacant and undeveloped. The property is surrounded by several neighborhoods with single family homes, as well as an elementary school.
