Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: The city removed asbestos in 2022 with local funding. The city applied on January 17, 2023 for $4M RLF loan through the Indiana Finance Authority for soil excavation and groundwater treatment and the loan closing took place in April 2023. Remediation activities began in November 2024 - groundwater monitoring wells were installed and injections of a liquid activated carbon product along the northwestern and western property boundaries at the leading edge of the historical trichloroethylene (TCE) groundwater plume were completed.
