Additional Property Attributes

The property contains the vacant Interstate Mobil convenience store/filling station/repair shop. The building is in poor condition as the roof has been compromised and is missing in several places. The interior of the building is heavily water damaged and abundant insulation and roofing materials cover the floor in many places. The City of Osceola entered the Arkansas Brownfield Program with intent on purchasing the property and demolishing the building, but redevelopment was unknown at the time. The REC found during the Phase I was related to the previous use as a fueling station and the presence of USTs. Asbestos-containing materials were not found.

A responsible party exists for the USTs installed at the site. Therefore, the Arkansas Brownfield Program will not fund further assessment or cleanup of the site. Future planned uses are unknown.
