Additional Property Attributes

Prior to the 1890s, the Property consisted of tidelands within Budd Inlet. The Property was first
developed in the 1890s with two wharfs on Budd Inlet with three dwellings on the southeast corner of
the Property in filled areas. By 1908, the entire Property had been filled to create usable land and in
1929, a lumber storage warehouse was constructed and occupied by Hyak Lumber and Millwork Co.
Around this time, a Union Pacific rail line was established on the northeastern border of the Property; an
abandoned rail spur which goes through the northern portion of the Property was also likely established
around this time. Hyak Lumber and Millwork Co. occupied the Property until ca. 1960. Between the
1960s and 1998, Harris Company Wholesale Building Materials, Ernies Auto & Truck Repair, All Service
Motors, Hardel Lumber, and Olympia Refrigeration Company each occupied the Property for varying
periods. In 1998, the warehouse caught fire and was subsequently demolished. The Property has
remained vacant and used for parking since 1998.
