Additional Property Attributes

Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the subject property consists of an eastern, central, and western portions. The Eastern Portion has historically consisted of a railyard, oil tanks, repair/machine shops, a freight station, two oil houses, a sand house, a water tower, blacksmith building, and the Bullitt Mine transfer station which opened in 1965. The property was utilized as a portion of the Bullitt Mine transfer station until the 1990s. Three buildings were constructed between 1979 and 1983, which were all demolished by 2009. The Central Portion also served as a railyard with multiple buildings were present along the central railyard. Between 1955 and 1965, five coal silos, four buildings, and a conveyor system were constructed between the eastern and central railyards. A sixth silo and a pond were constructed as well as the conveyor belt system was expanded between 1979 and 1983. Between 1991 and 2016, the conveyor belt system, buildings and silos were demolished and removed from the property. The Western Portion consisted of vacant or wooded land between at least 1921 and 1949. Between 1955 and 1969, a portion of a conveyor belt system and a pond were constructed associated with the Bullitt Mine transfer station. Three buildings as well as a pond were constructed between 1976 and 1983. Between 1991 and 2009, all of the buildings and structures were demolished. PM was unable to confirm the occupants or the use of each former building through review of reasonably ascertainable records. The property has consisted of vacant land since at least 2009-2016.
