Additional Property Attributes

The subject property (Property) is currently three contiguous vacant and undeveloped grass-covered lots owned by the City of Port Arthur. The City acquired the Property in 2010 at a Sherriff sale for tax delinquency. Previous land uses included residential dwellings with automobile garages or sheds, grocery store, ice manufacturing and possible coal storage. Sanborn maps and city directories indicate an ammonia tank, electrical motors, and refrigeration equipment were used at the former ice manufacturing facility from 1930 to 1992. The post-1992 land uses are unknown, however, it was likely residential based on listings for the Property in city directories.
