Additional Property Attributes

Property in 1948-1981 was a farm/residence with three buildings depicted in maps. In 1981, the property was either abandoned or had been previously during the 70's as the site seemed to be undeveloped land and vacant in the topographic and aerial maps from 1981 to current. Currently on site, there are two-three buildings which have collapsed and an abandoned livestock pin. Two wells were also present but have been plugged. Currently, the land may be used for hay but otherwise has been left vacant. We are meeting with internal stakeholders to perform marketing analysis for this project and further soil/water sampling. Currently, this would be a good potential candidate for an area for wetland mitigation since it is located south of new construction or an area for Rivercane restoration for the Durant/Calera Choctaw artists and gatherers. However, no official reuse plan has been enacted. Historic preservation has determined that the old homestead present was a non-choctaw homestead.

Additionally, there were several unregulated dump sites found on this property. These have been removed by our Solid Waste/Dump Cleanup program at a leveraged cost of $11,300.
