Additional Property Attributes

The earliest historical data is a 1938 aerial photo that shows several buildings on Parcels A through E. These buildings correspond to 1942 and 1943 Sanborn Maps which indicates the following usage Parcel A. Various stores, bar, telco company office. Parcel B. Paint Store (Western Auto), restaurant, store. Parcel C. Automobile dealership. Parcel D. Stores and residences. Parcel E. Store and residences. Western Auto operated from at least 1942 through the early 2000s and was also a paint store. This facility likely stored and sold paint and paint related solvents such as mineral spirits, turpentine, lacquer thinner, and paint thinner. The former use as a paint store is considered to represent a REC. The automobile dealership conducted vehicle service and repair which probably included storage of used oil and other waste liquids. Service and repair activities would have included the use of solvents, degreasers, and other automobile fluids. The former use of this property for vehicle service and repair is considered to represent a REC. No tank closure documentation was available for the former gasoline station with abandoned petroleum product USTs. Based on the operation dates (1950s to 1980s), automobile service and repair activities were likely conducted which may have included storage of used oil and other waste liquids. Service and repair activities would also have included the use of solvents, degreasers, and other automobile fluids. The former use of this property as a gasoline station, inclusive of the two abandoned USTs, is considered to represent a REC. No contamination was found during the Phase II Assessment. Two empty tanks were found on Parcel E. The tanks were assessed and removed on December 2, 2020.
