Additional Property Attributes

The property consists of four parcels including 19-11-34-203-112.000-020, 19-11-34-204-304.000-020, 19-11-34-204-305.000-020, and 19-11-34-204-306.000-020. The property is currently unoccupied and consists of a former gasoline station/convenience store, a warehouse building, and a commercial building situated on approximately 1.52 acres. Historically, the property was used as a filling station, storage, a shop, office space, and a bulk oil plant. The property was acquired by C.E. Taylor Oil, Inc. in the mid-1990s and operated as a gasoline station and convenience store at 802 Main Street until the 2000s. Available title records also identified Patoka Oil Company on the property from 1937 to 1952. Available records also show Roy Cox (Roy Cox Oil) as owning the property since the 1950s. The Dairyland Station operated on the property at 802 Main Street as FID number 10142 in the LUST and UST databases. One kerosene UST, two diesel USTs, and two gasoline USTs were removed from the property between November 19, 2007 and February 7, 2008. Following UST closure and remediation activities (soil removal), a NFA Determination was issued for 802 Main Street by the IDEM in September 2010. A comfort letter was issued by the Indiana Brownfields Program which identified future excavation and groundwater use restrictions for the property. The City of Huntingburg is in the process of acquiring the property, demolishing structures, and redevelop into greenspace.
