Additional Property Attributes

Reasonably ascertainable records for the subject property extended back to approximately 1914. Data failure occurred between 1916 and 1928, between 1936 and 1949, and between 1989 and 1997. However, PM did not identify any significant data gaps during the completion of this Phase I ESA.

Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the property consisted of vacant land between at least 1914 and 1916. Between 1916 and 1928, a portion of a foundry building, two office buildings, a pattern storage building and a carpentry shop were constructed on the western portion.

Various additions and demolitions occurred on the property from 1928 and 1978. Additionally, two residential dwellings were constructed on the eastern portion between 1936 and 1949 and were subsequentially demolished by 1958 when industrial operations expanded onto this portion of the property. Between 1989 and 1997, two outbuildings and the majority of the foundry building were demolished. Between 1999 and 2009, the remainder of the foundry building was demolished. The two portions of the former northeast adjoining building (which extended onto the subject property) were demolished between 2014 and 2017. The property has consisted of the former building foundations and vacant land since at least 2017.

In at least 1928 the property was occupied by Kings Company, a manufacturer of lighting equipment. PM was unable to confirm the tenants between 1929 and 1961, however, based on the layout and former tenants of the property, it is likely that the property was occupied by various manufacturing tenants. Between at least 1962 and 1988, the buildings were occupied by Southern Sash and Sales and Warehouse, which manufactured wooden sashes, and Southern Metals/Fabricating, which manufactured hardware. The buildings were vacant from at least 1992 until they were demolished.
