Additional Property Attributes

The property is located in downtown Canton and is currently used as the City of Canton Chamber of Commerce and a Railroad Museum. There are paved parking areas located on the northern and southern portions of the property. The eastern portion of the property is mainly brick walkways. The Illinois Central Railroad is located on the western property boundary. Maintained landscaping surrounds the building. The depot building's exterior consists of brick construction with a shingle roof. The interior finishes are wood and tile. The building is sub-divided into two separate buildings connected by one roof with a walkway between the northern and southern portions of the building. The northern portion of the building operates as the Chamber of Commerce and the southern portion houses the train museum. The City of Canton intends to take ownership of the property from the Canton Redevelopment Authority (current owner) and requires due diligence.
