Additional Property Attributes

Historical research revealed that the site was developed in the early 1940s as part of a larger military housing complex. The complex included multi-story residential buildings, community buildings, and several streets and parking lots. The complex extended beyond the site to the northeast, east, and south. In the early 1960s, the military housing complex was removed, both from the site and beyond, and was replaced with the Bayo Vista Family Housing community, which included multi-story residential buildings, a community building, a storage building, and several additional streets and parking lots. In the early 1980s, a recreation center and two basketball courts were added to the northwestern portion of the site. In the early 1990s, the recreation center was expanded. No significant changes have occurred on the site since the early 1990s. Review of historical information related to the former military housing complex did not identify any RECs.
