Additional Property Attributes

The property is contaminated as a result of an estimated 75,000 cubic yards of automotive "shredder fluff" that was reportedly placed on the property from off-site sources during the 1960s and 1970s. The site owner has been actively investigating the site since 1995, and prohibited any use of the site that could have exacerbated environmental concerns. The site is the proposed location for a community park which will include a community center, walking path, softball fields, basketball court, and other recreational amenities, components of which will serve to cap impacted soil and thereby serve as remedial remedies . The northern six acres of the property were donated to the Village via a Gift Warranty Deed on 12/18/1992. The southern five acres were purchased by the Village for $10 as documented in a Warranty Deed dated 12/18/1992.
