Additional Property Attributes

The Property consisted of residential development on the south portion of the Property from as early as 1924. From 1932 to 1959, a gasoline service station was present on the northern portion. A second gasoline filling station was developed on the southern portion of the Property in 1959 and operated until 1968. We identified documentation that indicated a 1,000-gallon and 500-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) were present on the Property and were reportedly filled with sand in 1971. During the site reconnaissance, four vent pipes and two cutoff pipes were observed on the Property. From 1984 to 2017, the structure on the Property was occupied by either a restaurant or fireworks store and at the time of the site reconnaissance, the Property consisted of a vacant commercial structure. A rectangular area of concrete was located east of the structure on the Property. The remainder of the Property consisted of paved parking lot.
Surrounding areas consisted primarily of residential development from as early as 1914. The Property was bordered by South 21st Street, Grand Avenue, and an alley to the west, north, and east, respectively. From 1938 to 1960, a gasoline filling station with a UST was located approximately 75 feet east of the Property. The UST was reportedly filled with sand and closed in place in 1971. At the time of the site reconnaissance, the surrounding area consisted primarily of residential development with scattered vacant commercial development.
