Additional Property Attributes

A growing regional agricultural hub on 3 acres located in a gateway area to Rutland City and adjacent to the rail line. The site houses several buildings of varying size - the largest being the 40,000 sq. ft. farmers hall, former home to the Winter Farmers Market. Other buildings are used in association with value-added local Ag. products and distribution infrastructure for the Rutland Region. Assessment work funded with a FY19 EPA award discovered a TCE release forcing cancellation of the Winter Farmers Market in February 2022, a huge social and economic blow to Rutland City and entire Region. Soil and groundwater are also impacted by PCBs, VOCs and PAHs. Extensive Supplemental Phase II ESA work is needed to delineate these impacts, which will be followed by cleanup planning and site redevelopment into a regional agricultural food storage and distribution center.
