The former bank site is currently abandoned, contributing to the overall blight along Plank Road. Build Baton Rouge (BBR), the local redevelopment authority, is preparing to develop the site into an affordable housing mixed-use development anchored by a grocery store and including mixed-income residential units. This development, along with BBR's ongoing developments along Plank Road as part of the Imagine Plank Road Plan for Equitable Development, will catalyze the revitalization of Plank Road, one of Baton Rouge's early important commercial corridors that has suffered decades of disinvestment. Subsurface sampling conducted under EPA's TBA.
