Additional Property Attributes

The subject property consisted of undeveloped land from at least 1924 until between 1941 and 1949, when a small commercial building was constructed on the west-central portion of the property. By at least 1950, the subject property began operating as a vehicle fueling station. Between 1958 and 1961, the subject property appears to have been redeveloped with a second fueling station building along the west-central portion of the property. The subject property continued this use through the 1980s. It is unknown if vehicle servicing activities also occurred onsite during this timeframe. By 1997, the subject property was redeveloped with a self-serve carwash building in the central portion of the property. The City of Ecorse acquired the subject property through tax reversion from the Wayne County Treasurer in 2018. The carwash building was demolished in 2021. The subject property currently consists of an undeveloped dirt/gravel lot that is unused.
