Additional Property Attributes

The Subject Site operated historically as the control tower and operational offices for the U.S. Naval Air Station, Bunker Hill from 1942 until being transferred to the U.S. Air Force Storage Branch in 1951. The Air Force operated Bunker Hill Air Force Base from 1954, renaming to Grissom Air Force Base in 1968. The Subject Site operated as the control tower until the early 1990's. The Subject Site has remained unoccupied since the 1990s and was sold to the Miami County Economic Development Authority in 2007. Although no files were found explicitly covering the Subject Site, a 1993 Environmental Baseline Survey Map of Grissom Air Force Base indicated that hazardous waste and hazardous materials were stored on the Subject Site (VFC # 59159254). EDR reports the Subject Site is situated within the limits of the Environmental Restrictive Covenant which covers the Grissom Air Reserve Base in its entirety.
