Additional Property Attributes

There are two brick structures built upon an approximate 6,360 square foot basement foundation that encompasses the 0.15-acre site. The front building is a two-story structure that occupies a 2,700 square foot base. The first floor was the original store front and the second floor was a residence. The rear building is a one-floor 3,661 square-foot structure that housed a storeroom and warehouse. The Havlicek family built the structure in 1912 as a General Store selling groceries, farm feed, household supplies, and clothing. The family renovated the building in 1951 converting the store into a household appliance shop selling and repairing items such as televisions, washers, dryers, refrigerators, and freezers. In the 1960s, the New Cooperative Company purchased the building and converted into a hardware, lumber supply, and feed store. Today the structure is vacant and the roofing on the rear building has collapsed onto the first floor.
