Additional Property Attributes

The property is currently undeveloped. First developed use of the subject property is unknown; however, the 1910 Sanborn map illustrates residential use for the majority of the block (illustrated as two-story dwellings with outbuildings). The 1928 and 1950 Sanborn maps illustrate commercial use for parcel 2601 Church Street as a laundry facility. Sanborn maps from 1928 to 1968 also depict two parcels (2600 Armistead Avenue, 310 East 26th Street) as apartment buildings instead of single family dwellings. 2601 Church Street, of the subject property, was listed in the city directories as a laundry facility (Moran Cleaners; Progressive Cleaning and Pressing; White Star Hand Laundry) from at least 1925 to 1950. A review of historical records revealed that from 1928 to 1988 a gasoline filling station was located adjacent to the subject property, across Church Street to the east. The site is part of a City master planning effort.
