Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: Asbestos containing material (both friable and non-friable) and lead paint were found throughout the former school and will require abatement prior to redevelopment. Two 2,000-gallon capacity USTs were also located onsite and it is believed that the USTs previously stored fuel oil. A total of approximately 975 gallons of a petroleum impacted water were located within the USTs.

Additional Property Attributes

The Site is approximately 2.88 acres in size, consisting of one predominantly square shaped parcel (State Parcel #49-07-20-109-250.000-101) on the northside of east 36th Street between Gale Street and Station Street located in the Forest Manor neighborhood of Indianapolis. The Site is improved with a former school building built in the 1920s that is one-story in some sections and two-stories in other sections. The school building is abandoned and in poor condition. Because of the age of the buildings, asbestos containing materials and/or lead based paint may exist in the building materials of the school. Property is currently privately owned but delinquent on tax payments. No definitive redevelopment plans are known at this time.
