Additional Property Attributes

Based on review of historical information, a total of eight residential houses existed on the Property from at least 1898 to the early 1920s. Demolition of the houses occurred in phases starting in the early 1920s to convert the Property to commercial use. The southern portion of the Property (and portions of the north-adjoining site) operated as a dairy distributer (Lansing Dairy Company and McDonald Dairy Company) from the early 1920s to early 1970s and a bee keeping supply (M.H Hunt & Sons, Michigan Bee & Farm Supply and M.J. Beck) from at least 1916 to 1953. The northern portion of the Property operated as a tool and welding shop (National File Company) from the late 1930s to early 1970s, refrigerator repair in at least 1951, and a chrome plater (Krome King) from the late 1960s to early 1970s. All the houses and the commercial buildings on the Property were razed by the early 1970s except for the former dairy cooler located in the eastern portion of the Property (built in 1964) and a pole barn located in the western portion of the Property (built in 1966). The Property (and north-adjoining) site are currently utilized by Chief Cart, a golf cart sales, service, and rental operation. The pole barn is utilized for golf cart storage and the former dairy building is utilized for dry storage.
