Additional Property Attributes

The property is currently used as a salvage yard, and partial vehicles and vehicle parts are stored on the property. It is approximately 9.4 acres in size and mostly rectangular in shape. A dirt path allows access from Highway 61 S onto the northeastern corner of the property and follows the property boundaries to the central and western portion of the property. The central and western portions of the property are covered with overgrown paths arranged in columns in rows to access the vehicle parts stored along the paths.

Based on historical documents reviewed, the property was developed with a residence between the years 1942 and 1949. The property appeared to be used for residential and agricultural use until between the years 1962 and 1974 when the property appeared vacant and wooded. The adjoining property to the southeast began to be used as a salvage yard between the years 1949 and 1960 (Matthew's Auto Parts), and Matthew's Auto Parts
became the owner of the subject property between the years 1967 and 1972. Based on the current owner representative interview, the property began to be used as the current use (salvage yard) by Matthew's Auto Parts in the approximate years 1977 and 1978.

The adjoining properties currently consist of an abandoned facility to the north, a church, restaurant, and a closed repair shop to the northeast, a used automotive parts facility, salvage yard, and hotel furniture warehouse to the southeast, polystyrene fabricating facility to the south, and railroad tracks and undeveloped land to the west. The adjoining property formerly consisted of a rubber reclaiming facility to the north and northeast,
residential property, and an automotive repair shop to the northeast, undeveloped land, and residential properties to the southeast, agricultural fields to the south, and railroad tracks and undeveloped land to the west.
