Additional Property Attributes

A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I ESA) was completed of the 102 Buffalo Street (Subject Property), located in Mannington, Marion County, West Virginia. The subject property is located in central Mannington, Marion County, West Virginia, and consists of approximately 0.083 acres that is occupied by a masonry block and brick building that was built in 1898. The subject property is zoned as commercial use and is identified through West Virginia public tax records as Parcel ID 24-13-0002-0014-0000. Building has transferred to the ownership of the City of Mannington as of January 2022. The structure on the subject property is a two-story brick building with a basement situated along the west side of Pyles Fork-a tributary of Buffalo Creek-and the north side of Buffalo Street and the intersection of Pyles Avenue within an urban setting. The structure is dilapidated, abandoned, and the roof and interior of the building are collapsed into the basement level. The subject property is bordered to the south, east, and west by commercial use properties and to the north by a residential property. These properties have never been developed for industrial purposes. The planned use is to be demolished and converted into an off-street parking area for the community. The subject property is currently vacant and abandoned. Asbestos inspection is to be completed. This Phase I ESA did not identify RECs, CRECs, HRECs or VECs for the 102 Buffalo Street property. Asbestos-containing building material was identified during an asbestos inspection.
