Additional Property Attributes

According to information obtained from the Greenville County Geographic Information System (GIS), the site consists of 12 parcels (Parcel Nos. 0053000100100, 0053000100200, 0053000100900, 0053000100800, 0053000100300, 0053000100700, 0053000100400, 0053000100200, 0053000100501, 0053000500100, 0053000502000, and 0053000500200) totaling approximately 2.03 acres. An occupied two-story residential apartment building is located on the western portion of the site; the remainder of the site consists of grass-covered land.

Based upon review of historical information, the eastern portion of the site was developed with the Butler Marble & Granite Company facility, and the western portion was developed with a small police station and single-family residences in the 1900s. In the 1910s, the Butler Marble & Granite Company facility was replaced with the Miller Paint Shop for carriages and automobiles, and a collection of small commercial stores occupied by a barber shop and restaurants were developed near the southeastern corner of the site. The Miller Paint Shop was removed in the late 1950s, but the other site buildings remained through the early 1990s. In the late 1990s, all buildings on the site except for the current residential apartment building were removed.
