Additional Property Attributes

No historical site-specific processes or uses of the site were identified. However, a review of the historical information including aerials and Sanborn maps indicated the site operated as a lumber mill under the ownership of Leon Lumber Company (LLC). The site historically operated as Leon Lumber Company(LLC) with developments over time of single-family residential properties throughout the site. Based on a review of the April 1930 Sanborn maps, a saw mill building, planning mill building, lumber shed, and waste vault were identified. A railroad once traversed northwest and southeast across the site for potential loading and offloading of railcars during LLC operation. Additionally, the Sanborn maps dated April 1930 depicted Boynton Bros. Turpentine Still located east of the site along the east side of present-day Mill Street. Additionally, in the immediate vicinity of the Boynton Bros. Turpentine Still, at least one (1) to three (3) bulk storage, above-ground storage tanks (ASTs) are visible in the 1951 and 1957 historical aerials. However, based on review of a prior 2017 Phase II ESA performed by ECT, this is not considered a REC.
