Additional Property Attributes

Former Mid South Car and Truck Rental (including gas station) and Restaurant. Property is vacant and used for open storage of vehicles (which will soon be moved off the property). The site is mostly a paved parking area with a building along the southwest property line. Surrounding area is mostly commercial/ industrial with several vacant & underutilized properties in the vicinity. This site is part of the Shreveport Common redevelopment area. Shreveport Common purchased the site to position it for future redevelopment by a private developer, Shreveport Common, Inc. or the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. The site is in a HUD Choice Neighborhood and Creative Placemaking revitalization area and target area, Shreveport Common. Also in the City Center Economic Development District. The proposed reuse is Artist Marketplace, Makerspace or Artist Affordable Studios.
