Additional Property Attributes

The Subject Property was occupied by multi-use development including multiple dwellings, a grocery store, cigar shop, saloon, photo shop, and general stores, from the mid-1880's until the early 1950's. In 1956, a former property owner constructed a full-service gasoline station on two (2) of the seven (7) parcels that makeup the Subject Property, with the remainder of the parcels occupied by residential development. Sometime prior to 1975 and after 1969, the fuel island was removed; all residential structures but one (1) were razed in the late 1960's. The remaining residential structure, located on the southern portion of the Subject Property, was razed prior to 1982. After that time until 2003, an auto repair and used car dealer occupied the site. The SVRTA purchased the properties between 2003 and 2009 for future expansion. The commercial structure, formerly operated as a gasoline service station, was razed in August 2009; the Subject Property has remained vacant. Consultant (CEC), coalition, and property owner are reviewing cleanup alternatives. Property may be identified under Ohio BUSTR as Class C (orphaned site). Property may be eligible for assessment and remediation under Ohio DOD Abandoned Gas Station grant program. Further Phase II assessment and Cleanup Planning may be necessary.
