Additional Property Attributes

The Site is in a rural part of the Town of Putney. It is on the south side of the railroad, River Road South, and Interstate I-91. Access to the Site is from the south side of River Road on a gravel driveway just east of the I-91 overpass. Site access is restricted via a locked roadway gate, partial fencing, heavily wooded land and steep slopes that extend to the adjoining Connecticut River. Active railway tracks abut the Site's northern boundary and the access road has a private crossing over the tracks. Much of the Site is open meadow and grassland over the capped landfill and the field to its south. The unused pit is densely grown in with young saplings. The land adjacent to the Connecticut River is heavily wooded. Nearby properties included rural residences, a dog kennel, and wooded land. The ANR Natural Resources Atlas
depicts the Site in a rural (non-urban background) area. A Phase I was completed in 2020 and updated in December 2021. The new owner plans to develop 3 acres of the site for a 500 kW solar array. A Phase Ii was completed and all RECs are below the allowable limit. No Cleanup is necessary.
