Property Highlights

This site is a 11.77-acre site located at 2820 W. Broadway Street in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. The site was first developed in the late 1920s and used in part for tobacco warehousing and by the Louisville Railway Company for painting and maintenance. In 1951 the site was developed for metal forging and pickling and transitioned in the late 1990's to produce truck axels and components. The site then became Sypris Technologies, which closed its doors in 2018, costing the community 150 skilled-labor jobs and leaving behind a large, vacant warehouse with potential contamination. In 2020 Goodwill purchased 20-acres of brownfield property at the corner of 28th and Broadway, including the 2820 W. Broadway Street site. The project received a subgrant award to remove an underground storage tank from the site, allowing the construction to move forward. On March 20, 2024, the site became home to the Norton Healthcare Goodwill Opportunity Campus, a 125,000 square foot facility that provides wrap around employment and healthcare services.
