Additional Property Attributes

The property is located in an area of S. Main Street that is primed for redevelopment. The Winnebago County Tax Trustee had acquired the property via delinquent property taxes. The City views this parcel as an important piece for future development of the area to compliment the proposed Barber Colman redevelopment project. Although no RECs were identified by the Phase I, disturbed suspect friable asbestos was encountered in the basement during the site visit that will cleanup. On 9/1/2022 the City of Rockford acquired the property. The property is currently being marketed for redevelopment.
