Additional Property Attributes

The Property consisted of vacant land until 1909, when an automobile repair facility and coal storage structure were present on the north and central portions of the Property. By 1951, the structure on the north portion of the Property was occupied by a plumbing operation and a warehouse addition was constructed on the west side of the structure. In 1954, the plumbing operation structure was no longer present, and a structure was present near the center of the Property. The remainder of the Property consisted of paved parking lot. In December 1995, a gasoline UST located on the northwest portion of the Property was removed and confirmation samples were not collected. From 2000 to 2020, the structure was occupied by the Caro Village Police Department. The City of Caro provided records depicting a "gas pump" along the west side of the structure on the Property in 1969. At the time of the site reconnaissance, the Property consisted of a vacant structure, paved parking lot, grass-covered land, and landscaped areas. A diesel AST was observed along the west side of the structure. The interior of the structure consisted of former offices and a garage. Drains and an area of cut and filled concrete were observed in the garage area.

In 1884, the Property was bordered by Bank Street, Joy Street, and an alley to the east, south, and northwest, respectively. The surrounding area consisted primarily of commercial development with residential development to the south. A gasoline UST was present northwest of the Property. Between 1884 and the late 2010s, commercial developments consisted of a warehouse, storefronts, a sheriff's office, horse medicine manufacturer, cement and coal storage, restaurants, a dry-cleaning operation, a gasoline filling station with two gasoline USTs, and an automobile repair facility.
