Additional Property Attributes

Available historical documents list the property as the following: vacant land in 2006; industrial development from 1910-1978; and surface parking lot from 1983-present. Historical aerial photographs dated 1941, 1952, 1958, 1963, 1972, and 1978 depict a portion of an industrial structure associated with the larger John Deere campus on the property. A Sanborn map dated 1910 depicts a portion of a structure associated with the adjoining "Waterloo Foundry Company," manufacturers of grey iron castings and gasoline engines, on the property. A railroad siding serving the structure terminates on the western portion of the property. A Sanborn map dated 1918 depicts a portion of a foundry building, as well as three storage buildings, associated with the adjoining "Waterloo Gasoline Engine Co." on the property. A railroad siding serving the foundry terminates on the western portion of the property. A Sanborn map dated 1962 depicts a portion of a "factory building" associated with the adjoining John Deere factory. Four (4) 400-gallon USTs containing oil are also located in the northwest portion of the property. A Sanborn map dated 1968 depicts four (4) 400-gallon USTs containing oil located in the northwest portion of the property. An environmental covenant associated with the larger John Deere campus covers the property. It limits land uses to commercial, industrial, and adult educational.
