Additional Property Attributes

The 37 acre property is owned by the City of Anniston and consists of a wooded tract that has never been developed
except for the installation of a sewer lift station in approximately 1972. The site is completely wooded except for the lift station and associated access road. The property was historically a part of the U.S. Department of the Army Fort McClellan military base, which was closed and operation/disposition transferred eventually to the McClellan Development Authority (MDA). The lift station was apparently a part of the military base, until transfer to the City of Anniston, where it was operated by the Anniston Water Works and Sewer Board. The station contains two small block buildings and an
underground storage tank (UST) is located adjacent to the buildings. Information regarding the UST was not available at the time of the assessment, but the Water Works and Sewer Board never operated the tank and assumed it was used to fuel emergency generators or pumps by Fort McClellan.
