The 1.15-acre Site consists of one parcel of land identified by the Fulton County tax assessor as 137.15-5-25. The Site is listed as a Class 2 New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Superfund Site. There are no buildings located on-site. The Site has been developed since at least 1884. A factory was constructed on the Site in 1900 and operated as a glove shop and leather manufacturer until 1964. Between 1969 and 1980, the Site was owned and occupied by Korkay Inc. (also identified as Perma Glaze Chemical Co.), a chemical supply company which stored bulk chemicals on-site. The Site building was expanded sometime between 1969 and 1986. Korkay Inc. operations on-site reportedly ceased in 1988. All on-site buildings were demolished as part of a remedial action lead by the NYSDEC in 1997. Multiple investigations including Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs, Remediation Investigations, and quarterly groundwater sampling events have occurred at the Site since 1984. The Site has been vacant and unoccupied since the demolition in 1997. The majority of the Site consists of a grass lawn. The remainder of the Site includes an asphalt parking area on the southeast side of the Site and 14 total groundwater monitoring wells.
