Additional Property Attributes

The subject property was developed between 1922 and 1925 with the current dwelling in the northwestern portion and the current southern building, as well as a stain mixing building east of the southern building and a railroad spur in the eastern portion. The western portion of the current central building and several additional storage, warehousing, shingle staining, and lumber sawing buildings were constructed between 1925 and 1940, as well as another railroad spur extending to the central portion of the property. The current storage garage was constructed in the northwestern portion in 1945 and the eastern portion of the current central building was constructed in 1948. Additional warehouse buildings were constructed in the northern-central and eastern portions between 1957 and 1961 and the current maintenance garage was constructed in 1977. Several former warehouse, sawing, stain mixing, shingle staining, and other storage buildings were demolished between the 1990s and 2000s.

The northern portion of the subject property was occupied by a lumber and coal yard from at least 1925 to 1971 and a flooring supply company from at least 1975 to 1990. The southern portion was occupied by a shingle and creosoted products (lumber treating) company from at least 1925 to 1965 and operations included manufacturing, staining, and warehousing of asphalt shingles; warehousing of sashes and doors; and creosote lumber treating. The southern portion was converted to warehousing and occupied by a popcorn and fast-food supply company from at least 1965 to 1995. The entire property was unoccupied for approximately two decades. The property has been occupied by a tire recycling center since 2013 and operations include bulk tire storage, tire shredding, and vehicle and equipment maintenance. The dwelling in the northwestern portion has likely remained vacant since the 1990s.
