Additional Property Attributes

The property was developed prior to 1884 with a lumber yard, including a planing mill and lumber piles in the northeastern portion, a steam drying house in the southern portion, a blacksmith shop in the central portion, and a sawmill in the western portion. An area of the blacksmith shop and the second story of the sawmill were historically utilized for painting operations associated with manufacturing of wooden tubs, pails, doors, sashes, and boxes. Between 1884 and 1897, the planing mill was demolished, a new lumber storage building was constructed, additions were constructed to the blacksmith shop and sawmill, and a planing mill was constructed in the southwestern portion. The blacksmith shop, steam drying house, planing mill, and sawmill were demolished between 1897 and 1919 when an office building and lumber warehouse were constructed in the western portion, and the current building was constructed in the western portion in 1916. The lumber storage building in the northeastern portion was demolished between 1919 and 1921. The current building was initially occupied by a planing mill and sash and door factory from construction until at least the 1950s, a private garage with tool repair and storage in the early-1950s, and a factory in the late-1950s and early-1960s. The office and storage buildings were demolished in the 1960s and the current building was converted to a warehouse in 1977 and then a medical laboratory in 1978. The building was occupied by a medical laboratory until at least 2008 and has been unoccupied since that time.
