Additional Property Attributes

The County needs to conduct an AAI to meet eligibility requirements of the ODOD Brownfield Demolition Grant Program. The two-story brick building was built in 1930 and is in disrepair. The site is immediately adjacent to residential structures and the owner intends to donate the property to the land bank. Based on the information obtained during the site reconnaissance, record reviews, interviews, and review of environmental history of the Subject Property, a release of hazardous substances and petroleum products may have occurred on the Subject Property. Tetra Tech observed one mercury thermostat within the building, with the mercury bulb intact. The thermostat is considered a REC; the mercury bulb should be disposed of in accordance with local and State regulations to ensure the bulb does not break. Tetra Tech performed an assessment of suspect ACM materials collected from the Commerce Street building. Analytical results indicated that asbestos is present above 1% in joint compound associated with drywall. The drywall and associated joint compound are not considered friable and are therefore Category I Non-Friable ACMs.
