Additional Property Attributes

The Site is a five parcel, 1.82-acre vacant property that is currently vegetated and well maintained with no remaining structures. It is identified by the City of Johnstown Tax Assessor's office as parcels 162.19-13-3, 162.19-13-4, 162.19-13-6, 162.19-13-7, and 162.19-13-8. It is zoned vacant commercial and the current owner is listed as Hawk 46, LLC. The Site has been developed since 1879 for industrial purposes. It was historically operated as a leather tannery, glove and baseball manufacturer, and a kitting mill. Historical Site operations included leather tanning, dyeing, and finishing. Chemicals stored on-site included arsenic, chrome, formic acid, sodium hydrosulfide, and sodium hydroxide. Typical wastes generated from Site activities included ignitable waste, corrosive waste, arsenic, chromium, lead, selenium. The Site operated until approximately 2008, when a structural fire destroyed all the remaining buildings.
