Additional Property Attributes

Site is approximately 1.85 acres of land with 8,420 sf building constructed in 1968. Building has been vacant for years. Formerly it was a car dealership. Other uses included a coal shed and rail spur on the property in 1892. Rail spurs were present until 1994. A gasoline station with underground storage tanks was presented by 1925. In 1967 a building was constructed for machine shop and welding. The current building was constructed in place of the former gasoline station. Former presence of a gasoline station with underground storage tanks, rail spur and machine shop are considered a REC on the site. The IA DNR contaminated site records indicate there were nine USTs on the site. All but two have been removed. Site received No Further Action letter in 12/3/92. A Phase I was prepared in Oct 7, 2022 and based on site history further investigation was recommended. An Asbestos and lead based paint inspection was completed in November 2022 indicating the site contained both ACM and LBP above statewide standards. ACM requires abatement prior to renovation and if LBP is to be impacted during renovation workers should comply with OSHA Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
