Property Highlights

A Hazardous Building Materials Investigation identified asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs in light ballasts and mercury in thermostats. An addendum to the Sampling Analysis Plan for radon was executed. A radon investigation found no levels of radon exceeding the EPAs mitigation level. An Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives was prepared and published for a 30-day public comment period, starting October 6, 2023. The QEP also prepared a request for bids for the hazardous building materials cleanup. This document will be utilized by the general contractor and incorporated in a cleanup project bid package. Comments from the public during the ABCA process ranged from "clean-up everything, including all lead-based paint" to "cleanup all asbestos and necessary lead-based paint." The City of Missoula is utilizing EPA cleanup funding to perform environmental cleanup. The city has procured a general contractor who will sub-contract with an abatement company to address hazardous building materials.
