The building known as "the Old Jack N Jill Grocery" is located within the flood plain of the City of Madison. This building has been closed for approximately 20 years +/-. The building has been flooded many times, the latest during the flood of 2019. The City and the LAIC (Lake Area Improvement Corporation) have the opportunity to acquire this building and remove it from the property and open the flood plain in this area. There are ceiling tiles and floor tiles of unknown composition but due to the age of the building, could contain asbestos or other contaminate materials that may require special attention for removal.
