Additional Property Attributes

The property is located in Turners Falls, a downtown area with historical industrial use. It is presently an underutilized downtown parking area, which is proposed to be redeveloped into affordable housing. The Town passed a 40R Smart Growth Zoning Overlay district for the site in 2022 and has done substantial community engagement regarding the reuse of this property. The site has zoning and capacity for up to 12 units. The EPA Region 1 TBA program is conducting assessment activities on the site. This assessment work is to supplement the EPA Brownfield assessment funds awarded to the Franklin Regional Council of Governments.
