Additional Property Attributes

The property was a multi-family housing unit previously owned by HUD, built in approximately 1910. 504 E. State Street was a two story brick apartment building which no longer exists and 514 E State Street contained a wooden apartment building which no longer exists. The large fourplex structure contains 4,228 square-feet in useable condition but has been vacant for many years. The end use of this property will be a transitional housing facility. The applicant, Transitional Housing, plans to totally gut the building and rebuild it into five apartments, including one catering to a disabled person. They will build two apartments on both the main and second floors with an additional bedroom on each side of the third floor. The fifth apartment will be located in the basement. The build will meet all appropriate building codes.

The Phase I Environmental Site Assessment indicates no Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs). Asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP) were found in the building. Cleanup is recommended if these materials will be disturbed during renovation activities.
