Additional Property Attributes

The property is developed with a vacant residential structure adjacent to Claiborne Memorial Medical Center's (CMMC's) helipad. The position of the structure and surrounding trees hinder the expansion of the helipad's landing, which needs improvements to meet FAA regulations and to better meet the needs of the surrounding rural community. CMMC plans to demolish the residential structure and clear the land to make room for helipad improvements; however, asbestos containing material was identified within the structure, which requires abatement prior to demolition. An improved helicopter service is key for timely healthcare of the surrounding population which is primarily low income and people of color.
