Additional Property Attributes

The site was a hospital from 1923 to 1976 and then an assisted living facility from 1979 to 2014. It contains one abandoned two-story building with 10,500 square-feet in stable condition but with lots of vandalism inside the building. The city acquired the property on May 4, 2022 and is prepared to complete a Phase I and have discussions with developers about the reuse of the building or the land.

Prior to renovation or demolition of the site buildings an inspection for asbestos and lead-based paint should be performed. Electrical light ballasts are present and may contain polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), so they should be tested prior to removal. Containers of paint-related materials and cleaning supplies are present in the building and should be properly disposed of.

Asbestos and lead-based paint were both identified in the building.
