Additional Property Attributes

Historically, the property operated as the Kitsonville School. The school was constructed in 1938 and could potentially contain asbestos-containing building materials and lead-based paint. The property is instrumental in the revitalization of Weston, West Virginia. Several asbestos containing materials were identified in the property. These materials will need to be addressed before any renovation or demolition occurs for the property. The structural analysis found that the building would require significant retrofits and repairs to be brought up to the current code standards. The significant retrofits could outweigh the costs of demolition and new construction.
